Oh! I could use that!

I like making useful art.

-> Polish Hill <-

Plight Of The Living Dead and Night Squid Studios
joined forces for the first time!!
(on a tiny 6' table)

The Art What You Got Festival was a hot, sweaty, and delightful day. Despite my unavoidable crankiness that consumed me about half way through, I had a good experience. I received a lot of good feedback, and was fortunate enough to have bartered with two other very talented Pgh artists for their fancy earrings.

Thanks for supporting the Night Squid, Pittsburgh!

On another note: I've recently discovered the genius animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. I'm a little behind on the times. But now thanks to our new faster internet, Netflix- watch instantly has sucked my desire for productivity away, as well as allowing me to watch the shows I didn' t know exist (and a lot of Bones).
I find the concepts and symbolism that the show portrays to feel fresh, and encouraging. Perhaps birthing new ideas for my own art. Who knows?
Along with this, I am also very disappointed that the movie looks so bad. Most likely not worth my time or money. That's just too bad, because it surely wasted a lot of others time and money just making the hunk-of-junk.

Also this weekend I will be traveling to Detroit to see the Suicide Machines reunion show with The Code, We Are The Union, The Bill Bondsmen and Wreak Havok. Should be a good time!

New Home and Beautiful Wedding

The T's New Home!

The wonderful people who sold us the house,
were nice enough to leave their mattress in the front lawn. It killed my grass.

After 30 years, the addition finally gets siding.
I love the cabin. This walnut grove
holds all the magic in the world for me.

The Wedding Day

The ceremony was very beautiful!
...and short!
The party was long (3days)

My Beautiful Brother

CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Jeremiah Jones and Mrs. Cecilia Grimm!

14 days

Till we close on our house. Then finally I can get a studio together, so I can start making things again. For now, living in a house where half our stuff in boxes- keeps productivity levels down. Our closing day is June 30Th. Then exactly 3 days later is my Brothers wedding. So I would have then signed the papers for my new house, and the next day leave for the weekend. Not much time to celebrate at home. But I couldn't be happier for Jeremiah and Cecilia! Can't wait for their wedding. Here's hoping that we can maybe move our closing date a couple days before. We'll see. Perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself.
I see good things ahead...( I hope my unconsciousness perceives correctly.)

To a hault

The studio is packed up. Everything scattered about- I feel far away from being able to create again. But I fill my head with ideas of flower gardens. And growing color schemes in the shaded area of a house that is almost mine. Summer has just begun, and I am very eager to get started. Hopefully I make it to Home Depot tonight so I can price out seeds/plants and gardening supplies!

Here's to being a 1st time home buyer.

This was the half way point in all the creations that happened the winter of '09

Night Squid has come a long way, and I'm proud of what has been accomplished. Faerie Festival was 6 months in the making. It's more than I have ever produced, I plan to do much more- lists upon endless lists keep forming in my head for new projects. This winter will be a time of creating, again.
Faerie Festival this year was wonderful. With gorgeous weather, loving family, dancing Faeries, and lots of sparkles. I hope to return for their 20th anniversary!
Eventually there will be a website where all of my work can be viewed and purchased. For now, I will blog.

An Attempt...

at blogging...to help keep you, and myself aware of what Night Squid is creating and getting into around the city.

More to follow. Including fun photos of winter '09 creations for the 2010 Faerie Festival.

I now have work showing in the 3G Gallery, Downtown Pittsburgh. Located on the ground level of the Federated building.

You can also find me this summer, July 18th at the Art What You Got Festival in Polish Hill, Pittsburgh. I will be sharing a table with the most talented Nichole Musser. Come see us!
